Skaven - Clan Skryre; Warlock Engineer

Was looking through a bits shop last month and saw the doomwheel driver and thought, hey that would be kind of cool as a wheelchair using Skyre guy....
Some wheel bits from the Lightning cannon I believe.
Small wheel from the Mortar (OOP Warhammer Starter box)
Pack from the warp flamethrower thing (OOP Warhammer Starter box)
And hey presto mostly done.
I re-posed his head slightly to make the miniature less linear (everything was facing the same direction), will require some greenstuff work and of course some arms... but nearly done already.

Messed up the wheel cap on this one a little so will require some more sanding and filling (chopped off too much from the bottom of the cap and then had to graft some back on again)

Skaven Clans:Updated Paint in progress

Put some time into this guy, just need to finish off some highlights, I really love this model from the old Warhammer starter set, way better than the rat ogres you buy in the standard rat ogre boxed set.

Also started on the 2nd black skaven for the Eshin warband.

Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Forces of Undead (Rats & Hounds)

Mantic games undead hounds from the kickstarter exclusive hound keeper, and the undead rats are from one of their undead skelly unit plastic sprues.

GW Giant rants, 2 of them (far left) are from the old swarm boxed set rats, one of them (far right) is from heroquest the other 4 are from the Plague priest kit I think, or possibly the doom wheel... maybe both... lol

Skaven Clans:Eshin Updated

Retrospective update as I haven't done anything really hobby related since about 2 days after my last update... lol.
Didn't take long to finish these two off from there really. I also painted the 2 other werewolves from the mantic set but I do not appear to have taken any photos of them yet.... nothing special very similar to the first one just with some different brown shades for the hair.

Skaven Clans:Eshin Updated

Almost finished these 2 guys now for the Eshin Skaven, I also assembled one plastic Stormvermin for the 2nd Black skaven, doesn't look anything like as cool as this guy, but then the majority of him was originally a special character and GW doesn't do some very cool character poses.

The pic is a bit small, sorry but you can always click to enlarge or right click and open in a new window or tab for even bigger still.... next time i'll just make sure I work the pictures to be a bit smaller in size so I can display them bigger lol.

Cheers

Skaven Clans: Pestilen Update

Here's the update on the clan so far, in fact this is the entire warband as it stands really I don't have any other figures picked out for them yet.

The two clanrats below are the furthest along. I need to do the final highlights to the greens and browns of the robes on the rest of the miniatures.

Have a good weekend.

Skaven Clans: Pestilens Plague Monk ~PiP

Slowly getting this lot done in drips and drabs, sorry about the general lack of updates the last few months, but I don't expect to be able to keep up the current pace of updates for long unfortunately!

I actually read the warband yesterday and realised that 3 initiates is too many, so this guy I think will be the full blown monk instead (he's a little taller than the other two).

Plague Priest: The warband must include a single Plague Priest as the leader.
Pestilens Sorcerer: The warband may include a single Pestilens Sorcerer.
Plague Monks: The warband may include up to two Plague Monks.
Monk Initiates: The warband may include up to two Monk Initiates.

Skaven Clans: Pestilens Plague Priest PiP

Just a quick update with some photos of the progress on my plague priest / sourcerer not sure which yet, (need to find a figure for the other before I make my mind up lol).

Base colours and an ink shade so far, tonnes more work to do.
Not a conversion this one just the stock plague priest figure from the screaming bell / plague furnace kit.

Skaven Clans: Pestilens Plauge initiates and clan rats PiP

Paint in progress shot of the first members of the Pestilens clan, 2 plague intiates converted from the screaming bell kit and 2 stock clan rats, chosen for their ragged and mutated appearence, and of course the flail type weapons were picked for this warband.

Skaven Clans:Eshin Night runners & Black Skaven

Night Runner with fighting claws, based on the standard clan rat, with standard claw arm, the other claw is from another arm, carved off and glued on the static arm. I cut off the left leg and repositioned it, then sculpted the knee back on.

Another night runner this one was converted by cutting off the left hand and glueing on a dark eldar hand with a knife. The other arm is a stock Skaven one..

Black skaven from one of the metal skaven characters I bought the body on it's own off eBay with no other parts, so I converted it with a plastic storm vermin head, and a beastman arm / flail.

Skaven Clans: Plague initiates

Converted some plague initiates from the guys swinging the screaming bell, takes a little bit of greenstuff to make good, and I added some brazier bits from dark angel space marine bits.
They are smaller than the average skaven, but that works for initiates fine :).

Dwarf & Skaven update

As these are both finished paint jobs from previously seen work i've put them into this one post.
Basically they've just had a bit more highlighting and depth added to the miniatures, i've now got to go and put a bit more effort into the rest of the dwarves as this guy looks quite a bit better lol

The Skaven seer again has just had highlighting done, mostly on the robes, scroll and skull. I've found it very difficult to highlight the head as there is very little detail on the plastic, but i'm pretty happy with the final outcome.

Skaven Clans: Eshin Sorcerer

So, you can't really have a bunch of Mordheim warbands without at least one skaven one can you?....

As it happens I picked up this figure as a damaged figure on eBay, the miniature had no head (missing) and his left hand and banner pole had been removed. he's been sitting in a bits box for years since then, until I finally decided I should do 1+ Skaven warbands too. I just decided to paint this figure for a bit of a change really lol having not painted any skaven since about a year after Mordheim was released.

The head and pointing hand are from the plastic stormvermin kit, and TBH I have no idea where the staff top came from. I haven't got an assasin yet to lead the band, they always seem to go for a fair bit of cash :( and I have none, particularily as i've been trying to buy the terrain I need for the Vampire hunters campaign.

He's been painted very simply using my usual method of block colours, inks and then highlights in the same colour as used for the blocking, the eye and chunk of Wyrdstone got a bit more effort, painted white and then using progressive mixes of water and green washed (a couple of times as I messed it up the first time) the right side of his face still needs more work, I tried giving him painted whiskers.... yeah that didn't work, so it's been re-painted, needs to be inked again.

Anyway , I hope you like him, i'll re-ink the face, varnish him and pop him in the cabinet with all the rest of the painted models until I get an assasin or some other inspiration for the rat things.

Long term I hope to make an Clan Eshin, Clan Pestilen and Clan Moulder warband, I may also do a few models for Clan Skryre and Clan Mors, perhaps they could be skaven hired swords.

Anyway that's all for now.
