Inspiration: Rhulic Adventurers

Not my work, just a few excellent conversion I had to share. These have all been converted for Privateer Press's Iron Kingdoms RPG game using mostly Pribateer press parts, and a couple of Reaper miniature parts.

The below conversions are from "PsycoLaughs" over on the Privateer press forums, the picture is a link to the thread with some other photos.

This guy is from Rob Hawkins and can be seen on his blog here his blog also has some human, trollkin, elf and gobber adventurers.
This one IS my own, done a few years back for the fun of it (I have never played in a game of IKRPG), a Rhulic sniper converted from  GW Ratling sniper (basically I extended the knee areas to give the model Rhulic sized legs).

Moving away from miniatures, there is this lovely bit of art showing a Rhulic Light Labour Jack (upright) by nfeyma over on DeviantArt here I woulden't have gone with the Khador fists myself but then I can't draw a stick man so... nevermind lol.

Warmachine: Magnus the dwarf (Archive conversion)

Here's a couple of conversions I haven't got around to painting poroperly, when I played a lot of warmachine I thought it would be fun to play as magnus, but I really do love the Privateer press dwarves too much to invest in stuff I don't really like the looks of. Therefore I decided, magnus is speed 5, which is as fast as the faster dwarves.... why not make Magnus into a dwarf.... (or a dwarf into Magnus)
Magnus was converted out of all privateer press parts, a Hammerfall high shield body, the epic magnus model's arms and the non-epic magnus's backpack. For the head I spent ages looking for a decent dwarfy head in the privateer press AND Warhammer range, in the end I went with an elf head from the nyss hunters, bulked up the nose and added a larger chin and sideburns.

Magnus has the ability to use unique jacks exclusive to him, the "renegade" warjacks, therefore I needed to work out how to make them, the above was what I came up with, a grundback runner chassis with a chainsaw from the GW Imperial guard sentinel kit (catachan), I got the gear bits from a GW Dwarf cannon kit. I was going to add a one shot missile to the back of the model... somehow to represent the renegades one shot gun and beef the little gut up a bit with some extra plating to represent the buckler the model has.

I might actually have a finished Terrortoise or two to show by the weekend, you never know lol.

WARMACHINE: Searforge Hammerfall UA

I thought i'd put up the WIP shots for the custom Searforge Hammerfall Highshield UA I made a couple of years ago as the previous pics are all fully painted.

These conversions are made primarily from Privateer Press Hammerfall figures (as you might expect) but I also mixed in a few GW parts (in particular, heads) to get more individuality from PPs figures.
The finished UA
I started with the officer, taking the Hammerfall body with a wide gait turning left.
I cut off the left leg cleaned up the groin area and pinned the trimmed lower leg to the stub with a gap in-between ( I used a bit of hard GS underneith the foot for support).
I then put some strips of GS on either side of his cloak and left them to dry.
Once dry I went over those strips with more GS and put in some creases and the button holes on the right hand side.
After that I took one of the straighter hammerfall left arms and cut it up, re-assembling it into a straight pose (without the hand).
Then I took and empire knight head and trimmed off the top, applying a bretonnian helmet in the laurels place.
The pointing hand is from the OOP Dwarf warriors boxed set.
After I started painted I also added a loin cloth out of a bit of plastikard with GS ontop of it.

The standard bearer was converted from one of my spare unit leaders (I've had up to 60 hammerfall at various points... kind of obsessed...).
His gun was hacked off and the arm cleaned up
The hand / banner pole was from the current GW dwarf warriors (or thunderers).
The head is from an OOP Empire state troops box.
The banner was made by putting shapes of plastikard on the banner pole and then using pro-create I sculpted all the little plaques (I pushmolded the top one from the stock UA).
There is also a little high elf purity seal type bit at the bottom.
He also has a bretonnian helmet on his back.

WARMACHINE: Searforge update

Update to show the latest complete models for my Searforge.

I frankly am never likely to use 30 hammerfall, even with 2 unit attachments, however I love the models....
The second unit attachment has been converted from a couple of "spare" hammerfall figures.

The units are distinguished by all having different shields (this includes the corresponding Unit attachments (one advantage of having 60+ Hammerfall models at one point.....).
Units: Hammerfall High Shields (34 (Units 10x3 + Unit attachments 2x2))

The Averlancher may not be the best jack in the game... well it may not even be in the middle area.... ok fine the Averlancher is not he WORST jack in the game.... but at least it brings some long range firepower to the Searforge contract (still need to base this guy).
Heavy Warjack: Averlancher
Durgen Madhammer, I decided to convert my Madhammer figure as he looked a little bit hunched backed and I wanted to try and make him look more like the artwork (on deviant art somewhere). However I didn't take into account that it was going to be impossible to re-pose his head so I had to just deal with what I ended up with below. I still prefer him over the stock version at least, lol. Again, I still need to base him.
