MODheim: Bloodcap Gnomes update

Three painted gnomes brings the warband up to 7 models :), i'll get a full warband shot up soon.

Gnome hero

Gnome Henchmen
I've really enjoyed making these guys, so much so that I just picked up another 14 night goblin heads off eBay and another box of Avatars of War dwarf Beserkers..... lol.

MODheim: Bloodcap Gnomes update

Another hero finished for the Bloodcap gnome warband.

Conversion is made up of:
Avatars of war Legs, Torso & Beard.
GW Flagellent Whip, chains and key.
GW OOP High elf dragon knight lance hand guard (dug out of my scrap metal bag lol).
GW OOP Night goblin head
GW Chaos warrior cloak / shoulder guard trimming (left over from a previous conversion) .
GW Dryad Branch bit (base adornment - used to extend the hood).
Greenstuff & 30mm base.

As a Mordheim campaign is imminent at the Worthing club (W Sussex, UK), i'm looking to use the gnomes as "Black Dwarves" from the border town burning Mordheim supplement. Therefore looking at the weapons available to black dwarves I noted the steel whip was an option for them. I liked that idea so I used it in the last hero below.

The Black dwarves list only has 4 heroes, the sorcerer (check), 2 gaolers (hence the key (check)), and a bull centaur.... (crud). Now I have to come up with a cool idea for a Gnome equivelent of a large fast moving combat hero... any ideas?

Sculpting: Sci-fi Dwarves update

Been a while since I felt like sculpting (i.e. from scratch), but over this time off  I decided to have a bit of a dabble again, taking these two near future sci-fi dwarf figures a bit further on from where they were sitting before, one day I might finish the 5 guys I have on the work bench!

MODheim: Undead update (Banshee)

I finally finished this conversion, one of the arms is longer than the other but to be honest I  just really need to finish something, so i'm leaving it as is!

Parts are:
Legs from the GW coven throne
Head and torso from a GW Demonette
Arms from a Mantic games ghoul
30mm base, greenstuff and procreate as usual.

Really happy with how she came out (except the short arm, but never mind).....

WARMACHINE: Searforge Hammerfall UA

I thought i'd put up the WIP shots for the custom Searforge Hammerfall Highshield UA I made a couple of years ago as the previous pics are all fully painted.

These conversions are made primarily from Privateer Press Hammerfall figures (as you might expect) but I also mixed in a few GW parts (in particular, heads) to get more individuality from PPs figures.
The finished UA
I started with the officer, taking the Hammerfall body with a wide gait turning left.
I cut off the left leg cleaned up the groin area and pinned the trimmed lower leg to the stub with a gap in-between ( I used a bit of hard GS underneith the foot for support).
I then put some strips of GS on either side of his cloak and left them to dry.
Once dry I went over those strips with more GS and put in some creases and the button holes on the right hand side.
After that I took one of the straighter hammerfall left arms and cut it up, re-assembling it into a straight pose (without the hand).
Then I took and empire knight head and trimmed off the top, applying a bretonnian helmet in the laurels place.
The pointing hand is from the OOP Dwarf warriors boxed set.
After I started painted I also added a loin cloth out of a bit of plastikard with GS ontop of it.
Pre paint shot of the conversion
Paint in progress shot of the conversion
The standard bearer was converted from one of my spare unit leaders (I've had up to 60 hammerfall at various points... kind of obsessed...).
His gun was hacked off and the arm cleaned up
The hand / banner pole was from the current GW dwarf warriors (or thunderers).
The head is from an OOP Empire state troops box.
The banner was made by putting shapes of plastikard on the banner pole and then using pro-create I sculpted all the little plaques (I pushmolded the top one from the stock UA).
There is also a little high elf purity seal type bit at the bottom.
He also has a bretonnian helmet on his back.

A couple of WIP shots of the standard bearer

Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Campaign Master forces

An update today on some Ghouls, and also a picture of everything painted so far.... a dismally small amount of figs compared to what I need to paint for the undead... oh well i'll keep at it! lol

8 more mantic ghouls to add to the force, one guy (rear middle) has a GW head for a bit of variation, but otherwise not really any conversion work here (apart from trimming off all the spiky things sticking out of them...).

Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Campaign Master forces

Another minor update, just to show I'm still doing SOMETHING for the project!

Here is Bonecaller (the Baron's favourite Necromancer) paint in progress (just base coated basically).

Also another grave guard WIP, using the same body (Privateer press Mercenary Thrall) and a GW skeleton head.

Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Campaign Master forces Vamps

Just a quick shot of a couple of vamps and some spiders (Aragnarok Kit), the guy on the right (GW) will likely be the Big bad while the female vampire (CMON) will be his first Mistress.

ZOMBIES!!!! (& skeletons)

Well, no good vampire army could possibly be complete without a horde of Zombies now could it!
BRAAAAIIIINNNNNNNS!
Here we have a lot of Mantic Games Zombies (and a couple of ghoul bits, plus one GW flagellant head) all based on 30mm round "DS" bases (Display style apparently...).
There are a few minor conversions here and there, the only one of note is the guy holding his head on with and axe in his neck, basically I bent the arm till the head reached the neck and then stuck an axe from the Mantic skeleton set on the neck.

Assembly of these figures is really easy, the only pain in the bottom was cutting thier little round bases off to put them on the 30mm bases, I considered basing them on the square ones but I have no plans to play an undead warhammer or KoW army and I will hopefully get a fair amount of use out of them in various mordheim adventure type games / campaigns.

These will be used heavily in the Mordheim Vampire hunters campaign. I have yet to order a can of Army painter's "Necrotic flesh" spay paint in order to start the painting process, but I still have 15 odd ghouls and 15 odd skeletons to put together and paint anyway (I already have the bone spray).

Speaking of skeletons, here are the latest ones finished, mostly mantic parts but GW spear arms and a couple of GW bodies (the GW Bodies I have to say are superior, simply for the fact that the Mantic rib cages are in most cases substantially too small).

MODheim: Terrortoise Update (PIP)

I have a busy weekend this week, so i'm doubting that I will get anything else up this week, so I though i'd put up a shot of the current progress on my Terrortoise guys.

As you can see I have now given them arms and undercoated them. The guy on the far left will be getting a shield once he's painted.

My undead army have arrived from Mantic games now so I have a lot of undead to put together so I don't know when I will get to painting these guys.... I guess it depends on how bored of putting together undead I get.
