Gnobgoblins (PIP)

Almost finished these fellas now, i'm still trying to work out a decent flesh tone, though i've inked them as they are just so that they can be used should I never find the perfect tone.

Idealy i'd use the same tone as the conversions i'm copying (over on warseer), but i'm NOT that good a painter (not even close)!

The Archers

Guy at the back left is still drying (ink) in case you are wondering why his eye is really shiny

Inspirations: Proxy 40k armies

The images you are about to see all come from one guy, forum name "Uber kroot", this guy seems to have a brilliant imagination when it comes to using other miniatures in proxy armies. The creativity here is hugely inspiring to me.

Tarellian Army (link: Here)
Now that's one tooled up leader

Nasty looking ain't he
A fair few scary creatures you wouldn't want to meet in a (large) dark alley
Jump pack Lizardmen...
Reminds me of the HE-MAN movie.....I guess the Avengers movie for younger generations
Necron Monoliths like you have never seen them before...
I see orc & necron  parts, plus a croxigor

Nekulli (Link: Here)
I saw this guy and thought that would look cool with the bretonnian banner top on it's neck.... (looked at the miniature lying on the desk underneath.... crap lol).
I might need to get me some 'nids....

Mud Devils Hunting Pack

The last 3
GW had an article some years back called "Creature Feature", I think for 40k 3rd edition chapter approved. The article detailed at least 30 rules and points costs for building your own creatures or fauna to use in games of 40k.

The finished pack of Mud devils (bar bases of course)
One of the creatures that GW converted up were the mud devils (or demons I can't remember what they called them), these are apparently inspired by a comic or graphic novel, but I have not read it myself.

The figures are converted from Squigs and the OOP metal Chaos horror arms, with some GS used to cover the squigs eyes and blend in the arms.

Took me a few years to gather the parts together for 8 of them (one not pictured above as he's my least favourite lol).

Really easy conversion and paint job, but I love these little blighters, not sure what / where I might use them yet though.

Mordheim Vampire Hunters NPCs: Diedrich's Men

An update on Diedrich & his men Men. I have painted them, though they still need highlights and the base finishing of course as per usual. I found a better purple than the purply red I had used before in a bunch of long lost paints :).

I'm pretty happy with how Diedrich turned out and the guy with the mega stash, not so happy with the other two, but as NPCs.... they'll do.

Inspirations: Lizardmen & Fimir

Apologies for the delay in updating the blog, I have had a busy xmas period (and the weeks afterwards) and very little time to spare on little figures, I have dabble a little bit here and there and based a few minis ready to undercoat, however the snow means I can't do that yet...

So i've been thinking about my lizardmen for a while now, I was pretty much going to use some Helldorado lost for the large ones and GW Skinks for the small ones. I'm probably still going to use GW Skinks but i've come across a couple of ideas that have made me look at other GW kits for the bigger lizardmen, specifically the Savage Orc kit.

This idea here from Matal over on DeviantArt is a brilliant use of the new Savage orcs to create Saurus models which I much prefer to the existing GW kit.

The below conversion from Khar however grabs my attention more at the moment, this time Kroxigor sized but again using the savage orc kit as a basis (Amazing how flexible it can be with a legs swap). I'm really liking this conversion though I think I will reduce the neck length (a little) should I undertake it.

While i'm posting conversions using Savage orcs as a basis have you seen Mr Saturday's Fimir? A brilliant revitalisation of an old GW race.
