Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Ernst Kauffman, Burgermeister

Last of the NPCs for the Vampire hunters campaign :), now I just have to paint them lol.

Ernst is a shade past middle age, but a commanding presence. An ex soldier, he can still handle himself in a fight. He has a sword, a dagger, heavy armour, and a helmet. Ernst has the  Fearsome skill.

This conversion as resulted in a rather large model, but he's toughness 4 so i'm quite happy that he's on the larger side.

The parts are: Empire General legs, OOP Empire champion torso, OOP empire head, Cloak (and arm) from Pistolliers boxed set and the other one is from the Huntsmen set, the Pistollier hand is much bigger but i'm going to paint it like a glove so hopefully it won't look too bad... lol.

The marksmen have been converted in another post, but I finished off the quivers (from high elf archers) with some plastic card straps and added pouches from the High elf White lion set.

Mordheim: Sisters of Sigmar Update

A Shot of the two converted sisters

I have now finished a second sister superior and my Auger ready for undercoating (I also found my Bertha model whom I shall use to fill in that third superior slot in the list). Thereby meaning that all the girls have been assembled, I just need to paint these three and I will have one warband ready to rumble for the Vampire hunters campaign (presuming someone wants to use Sisters lol).

More angles on the Auger
The Superior is the same model as the one I have already painted (I had a duplicate) while the Auger is based on a Sister of Battle "Sister repentia" or something like that...

On the Superior I cut off as much of her hair as I could with clippers, then went to town on the model with various shaped files (e.g. triangle, curved and pointed files), then greenstuffed a half decent hood (a little on the large side but i'm ok with it lol).

On the Auger I removed her Chainsword and a few other details with clippers and a file and then added a hair head sprue hammer with a bit cut off a Flagellant Scythe, and of course plenty of green stuff. I used grey stuff as well so I could easily distinguish between her robe and tabard when sculpting. Lastly I added a twin tailed commet again from the Flagellant set.

Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Campaign Master forces

ZOMBIES!!!!

I needed a bit of a morale boost on the project so I decided to boost the amount of painted models for the Vampire hunters campaign by 100%.... that meant painting some of the horde of undead, and the Zombies were IT.

I now have 28 zombies painted up :). VERY simple paint job:

Army Painter barbarian flesh undercoat
Dry brushed with a pale flesh colour (this one called .... erm "Pale Flesh" from the OOP I-Kore range... )
Painted their clothes in browns, greys and greens (mostly P3 paints (Thorn Green, Umbral Umber, Bloodtracker Brown, Sanguine Base, Gun Corps Brown, Bastion grey) and an OOP GW Bubonic Brown).
P3 red ink in the wounds, on hands, mouths and all the eyes.
Army painter "Strong tone" ink applied (by brush from dropper bottle).
Then I mixed some of the red ink and strong tone and touched up all the blood to get a more realistic colour.
Black on the bases.

Sorry about the crappy photo but there was no natural light at the time I took this.

Mordheim: Sisters of Sigmar

Well nothing converted in this warband as yet (I need to make a couple more sisters superiors and an Auger). Just stock Sisters of Sigmar i've had for ages painted up. Scale wise they were in my 30-32mm project as women are GENERALLY not as tall as men.

The Sisters are great sculpts and painted up really well in my opinion, i'm pretty happy with how they turned out :).

I chose the sisters to paint as they have a couple of advantages against the undead so are quite a likely choice for a warband in the vampire hunters campaign.

Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Nachtdorf terrain

Just put together all the bits I have collected over the years and recently purchased for accessorising Mordheim type terrain:

As you can see it's rather an ecclectic collection, crates, buckets and barrels from antenocitis workshop, (Hirst arts licenced casts I believe) some bits from the Warhammer siege defenders kit, Barrels, buckets and chests from Empire artillery sets, "posters" from the flagellant kit, lanterns from Warhammer terrain kits, torches and candles from the empire wagon thingy, wine bottles from Pistolliers, sandbags to use as bags of flour, etc, etc.

Unfortunately the coffins I purchased for the vampire hunters campaign are too small
even for 28mm games (let alone Warmachine / Malifaux which they were advertised for, but never mind), i'll probably just end up using them more as "tokens" rather than as terrain anyway.

I guess I should probably finish some terrain so I can use some of this stuff lol.

Mordheim Vampire Hunters: Campaign Master forces

Another graveguard completed, I also did a skeleton and a zombie with more of a peasent feel to them that the previous models. I'm presently struggling though to finish off enough skeletons as I don't have anymore left arms... lol.

Like all the other graveguard so far this guy is based on the Privateer Press mercenary thrall, this time a couple of GW arms have been used to finish the model off, I think from the grave guard plastics, the original model was second hand and came with no arms. 4 Grave guard down now, I just need 4 more to be confident I have enough...

The other two models use a flagellant body and then the zombie is a Mantic zombie, the skellie is part warlord games part GW so far.

Mordheim Vampire Hunters NPCs: Gerhardt Lowenherz, Militia Sgt

Finally got around to painting the Sgt, some of the greenstuff push moulding doesn't look great on the leg armour, but for an NPC, I think he looks pretty good :).

I painted him in the same uniform as the Ostermark soldiers, as they are from the same state, I figured perhaps his trousers were hand me downs from a relative who was in the army, and this way he could be used in the same warband should they ever get used for that, but the paintwork is different enough that he shouldn't get mixed up with them (e.g. brown coat instead of black / dark grey) :).

Fishmen update; Bog Trogs galore

First off sorry for the long delay between posts, last week was very draining, I didn't have any

enthusiasm to do anything at all, some of it is back and a number of items have been undercoated now, so at the very least I should be able to do a little painting in the evenings to update the blog with.

 -------------------------

With rask now out and being a really decent caster for the Blindwater contract (Privateer PRess game Hordes) I had to buy some more Bog trogs to go with the 12 I already had... in order to start building a fishman army. Then I bought a Spitter (giant turtle thing) and i've also ordered a Swamp horror (the Squid beast).... so it looks like i'm now collecting both of the Minion factions ( I have a relatively large force of Farrow already).... oh well... lol.

The fishmen will be pulling double time in some other games at least, even if just some random baddies in Mordheim Quest.

Still haven't determined what i'm going to do with the bases yet, but I have bought some water effects stuff there will be some sludgy or muddle puddles at least on some of them :).
